Whitney Iles

Whitney is a social entrepreneur, community activist and the founder/CEO of Project 507, a social enterprise established to change systems that generate violence.

For the last thirteen years she has actively engaged with people and projects that have had an impact on society in the UK and abroad.  From street culture to corporate boardrooms, she has been a force for positive change, bridging the gap between generations to promote sustainable change in the local community and society as a whole.

At TEDxBrighton, Whitney will reveal some remarkable truths around violence and trauma and the often ineffective approaches taken to resolve violent tendencies, particularly amongst young offenders.

Breaking down the psychological, social and behavioural factors, Whitney will examine and describe her story with violence. Sharing with you her journey towards creating the systemic changes required to build positive spaces, which help individuals and communities overcome their relationship with violence.
