Jason Holt CBE

Founder of Holts Academy – Government Apprenticeship Ambassador for small and medium-sized enterprises (SME’s) and Chief Executive Officer of Holts Group, Jason was awarded the CBE in the 2015 Queen’s New Year’s Honours. As founder of Holts Academy, he was recognised for his outstanding contributions to promoting apprenticeships to businesses and his efforts to regenerate skills in the jewellery sector. He has devoted the past 15 years to furthering vocational skills training and apprenticeships.

The Holts Group includes a diverse range of businesses including a creative digital agency specialising in Augmented Reality (Holition) and a precious gemstone and jewellery design business (Holts London). All employ apprentices.

Following his authorship of the Government Review on ‘Making Apprenticeships More Accessible to SME’s, his recommendations have changed policies so it is now easier for employers to recruit apprentices.  He was subsequently appointed by the Minister for Skills as the Government Apprenticeship Ambassador for Small Business. Jason recently chaired the Craft Trailblazer which represents all areas of craft in the UK.   Most recently, Jason was appointed Chair of the Apprenticeship Stakeholder Board which has been set up to support the Government’s mission to deliver three million apprentices by 2020.
