Rachel Mortimer
Rachel believes passionately in the rights of people living with dementia to enjoy human contact and conversation – even when verbal communication has become a challenge.   Inspired by the knowledge that human interaction in a care home can be limited to just two minutes over six hours, she devised ‘Ignite’, using art and the exploration of a painting to trigger reactions and memories and so spark conversations.

Rachel will show us how thoughtful and person-centred approaches can have a huge impact on communication with people that many have given up on.
