Many Hands Photo competition – we have a winner!
Congratulations to our Many Hands photo competition winner Rachel Nahum! Here’s what she had to say about her entry:
“I work as Family Participation Worker at Safety Net, a local charity working to keep children safe across the city. We fund raised for a residential over the summer for families who do not have the luxury of a summer holiday. One of the mum’s suggested we all make an image of our hands to celebrate the sense of achievement of all being on holiday together. This is the image we made. I love it as it is not easy to identify who is who. The children’s creativity totally shines next to my own hand!”
We were delighted to have received so many brilliant/creative/funny entries to our photo competition, it was great seeing them all and we will enjoy sharing more during the day on our Storystream at the event. However we had to share a few of our favourites with you here…
“This is a picture from Plot 22, a vegetable and fruit garden in Hove. It is also an outdoor meeting space and community venue for group events and activities, as well as a therapeutic space for one-to-one sessions. They received a recent grant of £3,000 from Sussex Community Foundation recently to support their volunteers, to pay for food and fuel for communal meals (cooked and eaten together at each session) and for seeds, compost, gloves and tools.”
“Together, even the worst sounding scenarios can be fun and create happiness… like a foot or two in the face.”
“School of the Wild – To make this happen, we need many hands, not all of them human”
“Same-Sex Marriage – happy to be able to married to person I love!”
“The biggest hand in the world! This photo was taken during a trip to the Ripley’s believe it or not museum in New York City. My hands are already pretty big compared to others’, while the giant, Wadlow, who has been recognized as the tallest man in the world until now, had hands bigger than mine.”

“From many hands good things blossom!”
Congrats again to Rachel and thanks again for all your entries, keep your eyes peeled to see more on the day!
